An ionization chamber circuit is described which can be switched from dosage to dosage rate measurement. In this circuit the insulated electrode of the ionization chamber is connected to the plate of the electrometer tube known in the art as the inverted operation of the electrometer tube, and the other electrode of the ionization chamber is either switched to the positive pole of a direct current power supply when measuring the dosage rate or switched to the negative pole of the power supply when measuring the dosage. A common meter for both measurements is provided which gives an indication of the current flowing to the grid of the tube. (NPO)
