TYPE 316 STAINLESS STEEL FORCED CONVECTION SODIUM CORROSION LOOP TESTS SSSA- 1A1, SSSA-2C2, SSSA-3C3 AND SSSA-5F1
Technical Report

OSTI ID:4790697
Na was pumped through 4 test loops constructed of 316 stainless steel to determine the resistance of this material to corrosion and mass transfer. Resuits are tabulated for operating temperatures of 1050 and 1600 deg F. It was tentatively concluded that stainless steel has moderately good mass transfer and corrosion resistance; however, since the tests were of a preliminary nature, confirmation tests are recommended.
