EXCITED STATES OF Tl-208 AND Po-212

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.

The excited states of T1/sup 208/ and Po/sup 212/ were investigated. Excited levels of 40, 328, 473, 493, and 619 kev in T1/sup 208/ were confirmed by alpha and gamma spectroscopy. Conversion coefficients of 288 and 328-kev gamma agree with the M1 assignment. No evidence of a 619-kev gamma was found. Excited states at 730, 1510, 1620, 1680, and 1800 kev in Po/sup 212/ were confirmed. No evidence of a 2200 kev direct gamma transition was found, but a cascade 600 to 1600 kev is suggested. Long-range alpha intensities were evaluated by solid state detectors. (auth)
