>An apparatus is designed for monitoring the positions of a number of synchronously adjustable reactor control rods. The apparatus comprises a position transmitter for each rod, a receiver, a switch for feeding transmitter signals to the receiver in a cyclically repeated sequence, a servo loop for eliminating the error signal from a difference between the reference position and the position signaled to the receiver, and an alarm operated when the error signal exceeds a predetermined level. An indicator is provided for showing the positions of the members as their positions are scanned by the receiver. (D.L.C.)
