Starting from the neutron balance equation, the reactor kinetic equations generally applicable to a plutoniumand/or thorium-recycled reactor are derived. The use of the newly defined effective fraction of delayed neutrons, BETA /sub eff/, with these reactor kinetic equations simplifies the analysis of the dynamic behavior of a plutonium- and/or thorium-recycled reactor.
