REGULATION OF THE CEREBRAL BLOOD CIRCULATION IN IRRADIATED ANIMALS (in Russian)
The reflex action on the blood vessels of the brain was studied while the animal was exposed to a dose of 1000 r of ionizing radiation, using the flow rate of the blood as the indicator. This value was obtained by means of a thermoelectrode fastened in the opening of the right parietal bone of the skull of the animal. The results indicated a considerable change in the circulatory system of the cerebral blood of the animals exposed to the radiation. The regulation becomes insufficient in view of inhibition of the compensatory mechanisms, resulting in an increased tendency toward spasms. The vascular system is changed and the mechanisms controlling the internal medium are disturbed. (TTT)
