BS>A method is given for the resistance welding together of magnesium alloy parts which are easily contaminated by copper electrodes. The method comprises interposing between each of the welding electrodes and the parts a thin (e.g., 0.003-in. thick) steel strip. The method is applicable to the attachment of Magnox fins to reactor fuel elements with Magnox sheaths. (D.L.C.)
