THE NATURAL CONTENTS OF RaD (Pb$sup 210$) AND RaF (Po$sup 210$) IN THE HUMAN BODY

Results are reported from measurements of naturally occurring RaD, RaF, and Ra/sup 226/ in surgical and autopsy specimens of soft tissue and bone. Applications of the data in estimates of the internal dose rate due to RaD and its daughters relative to that from the Ri/sup 226/ chain are discussed. Problems involved in determining the distribution of RaF-RaD in the skeleton are considered. It is concluded that because of the lack of correlation between RaD and Ra/sup 226/ concentrations, the reiative dose rates cannot be defined for human populations as a function of geography (C.H.)
