THE TRANSLOCATION OF Ra DAUGHTERS TO THE SKELETON OF THOROTRAST PATIENTS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4780197
The skeleton and bone marrow of Thorotrast patients were analyzed for activity from Th/sup 232/, Ra/sup 228/, and Th/sup 228/. Data are tabulated. Transport parameters for Ra/sup 228/ and Ra/sup 224/ and the equilibrium status of the chain in the reticuloendothelial system are discussed. It is suggested that data from these patients offer unique opportunities to students of bone physiology since severai radioactive elements are injected into the circulation at a constant rate for long periods of time.
