A reactor is designed for operation at a power up to 10 kw at ~40 deg C to produce radioisotopes. The reactor comprises a deep tank filled with water, a core disposed at the bottom of the reactor, and cooling means in the water. The water is circulated through the core by convection. Facilities for irradiating specimens and removing them while the reactor is still in operation are described in British Patents 904,608 and 904,609. (D.L.C.)
