Design and development work on the Army Boiling Water Reactor are described in sections on control rod drive mechanism, plant simulation, core evaluation, and PL production fuel elements. Reports on plant development and evaluation were previously issued. Details of the critical experiment program are included. this program is intended to check the analysis methods used in the PL-2 design, and in particular, to check the effects of the control rods and the B-stainless steel pins on reactivity and power distribution. Information is included on small cores with excess reactivity and full size core loading. (J.R.D.)
