S>Studies were carried out to exploit the unique properties of Kr/sup 85/ . Vapor phase polymerizations of acetylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene with Kr/ sup 85/ were continued. Experiments for the graft polymerization of chlorotrifluoroethylene or acetylene to natural rubber, using Kr/sup 85/, were initiated. Preliminary development of a self-luminous lamp utilizing Kr/sup 85/ dissolved in polystyrene containing a scintillator was begun. The development of a theoretical basis for the stimulated emission of gamma rays, as well as theoretical consideration of optical masers pumped by nuclear radiation was completed. (auth)
