Propagation of converging waves in a cylindrical plasma column is analyzed on the basis of the equations of magnetohydrodynamics, taking into account nonlinearity and absorption. The analysis is carried out by simplifying the initial set of equations. This approximation is valued for small initial perturbations, small dissipation, and cylinder radii that are large compared to the wave length. The formation and gradual disintegration ' of the fronts in a converging cylindrical magneto-acoustic wave are studied, and the dissipation energy is determined as a function of radius of the cylindrical plasma column.
