ABWR--PL-2 DESIGN REPORT, OCTOBER 15, 1960
These two volumes were issued separately, but are cataloged as a unit. The PL-2 is a natural circulation, boiling water reactor plant designed to deliver 1000 kw of net electric power and plant is similar in design to the SL-1 which was operated at NRTS since 1958. Details are given concerning installation of PL-2 in a snow tunnel; however, this reactor is suitable for installation on permafrost and conventional underburdens. Modular construction is employed to minimize field erection. All modules can be air-transported and are suitable for surface transport. Data are included concerning the plant and descriptions are given concerning the plant and reactor. A compilation of speclfications for major plant components is included. (J.R.D.)
