PAPER ELECTROPHORETIC SEPARATION OF SOME FISSION PRODUCTS

Journal Article · · J. Chromatog.

The paper electrophoretic behavior of some fission products in 0.5 N NaN/ sub 2/ electrolyte was studied in order to see whether Ru/sup 106/ could be separated from fission products. The solution of fission products was heated to convert the Ru complexes into a single, highiy charged anionic complex, and paper electrophoresis resulted in the separation of RU/sup 106/, Sr/sup 90/, and Cs/sup 137/ (the last two are cationic) from Zr/sup Nb/sup 95/, Pm/sup 147/, Tc/sup 99/ and Ce/sup 144/.
