THE EXTRACTION OF URANIUM(VI) FROM SULPHURIC ACID SOLUTIONS BY TRI-n- DODECYLAMINE

Journal Article · · Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (England) Merged with Inorg. Nucl. Chem. Lett. to form Polyhedron
The partition of urantum (VI) between sulfuric acid solutions and solutions of tri-n-dodecylamine (TDA) in benzene was investigated by varying the sulfuric acid concentration, aqueous uranium concentration, solvent concentration, and temperature; the extraction of sulfuric acid by TDA in benzene was also examined. Infrared spectra were obtained of the organic solutions involved. The mecharism of urarium extraction is discussed in the light of these results, (auth)
