The partition of uranium(VI) between sulfuric acid solutions and solutions of di-(2-ethylhexyl)-phosphoric acid (DEHPA) in kerosene was investigated at varying concentrations of sulfuric acid, solvent, and uranium at differert temperatures. Changes in acidity of the organic solutions were examined, and infrared data were obtained; the mechanism of uranium extraction is discussed on the basis of the results. (auth)
