CaSO$sub 4$(Mn) THERMOLUMINESCENCE DOSIMETERS FOR SMALL DOSES OF GAMMA RADIATION

Journal Article · · Rev. Sci. Instr.
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1063/1.1717715· OSTI ID:4764551
The thermoluminescence dosimeter offers a cheap means of measuring gamma doses as small as 50 mu r. The CaSO/sub 4/(Mn) is prepared according to Watanabe, and the phosphor powder, mixed with silicon resin, is painted on a strip of Kanthal. For the read-out, the dosimeter is heated by a-c through the Kanthal; the read-out temperature should be kept as low as possible. Random errors are discussed. (D.L.C.)
