The level schemes of the deformed nuclei Re/sup 187/ and Dy/sup 160/ are studied. The gamma , spectra following BETA decay of W/sup 187/ and Tb/sup 160/ were measured using Compton and pair spectrometers and sum-coincidence and gamma - gamma coincidence methods. The angular distribution and polarization of gamma cascades were determined with an automatic angular correlation polarimeter. The level scheme of Re/sup 187/ shows 38 lines, 7 of which have not been observed previously. Most of the data on Re/sup 187/ can be explained by the Nilsson model but there are also indications of disagreement. The level scheme for Dy/sup 160/ shows 19 lines. For the levels at 87, 964, 1047, and 1262 kev spins and parities of 2/sup +/, 2/sup +/, 3/sup +/, and 2/sup -/, respectively, were determined. These results are in agreement with theoretical predictions. (Gmelin)
