Mice were subjected to an absolute lethal dose of x rays (750 r). It is shown that intravenous administration of purified properdin in a dose of 3000 units/kg to mice at different periods after the irradiation caused an insignificant rise of the average life expectation of mice and in some experiments it was conducive to the survival of 10 to 15% of the animals.
