SEROTONIN AND THE LOCAL EFFECT OF X RAYS: EXPERIMENTS IN THE SKIN OG GUINEA PIGS (in French)

Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine) was found to have a protective effect against x irradtation when given to guinea pigs 5 min before exposure. This was- demonstrated by means of a previously described method, which involves changes in the mitotic rate in the nippies of estrogentreated male animals induced by epilating radiation doses.
