Radioprotective Effects of β-Aminoethylisothiuronium Br·HBr in the Dog
It is shown that AET can be tolerated by dogs when administered by rapid intravenous injection in doses sufficient to be radioprotective (125 mg/kg). Also, AET was found to afford a high degree of protection (90% survivors) in large animals (dogs) against an otherwise lethal exposure of x irradiation. All control dogs given 500 r died.
