A method is presented for the spectrophotometric determinati on of microgram amounts of hexavalent uranium by means of the azodyes Monochrome Black Blue G and Diamond Black PBB, respectively. These two azodyes react with uranyl ions in an acetate-buffered hydrochloric acidmethanolic medium with formation of colored chelates. Ten or 20 mu g uranium(VI)/10 ml measuring solution can be determined with relatively high accuracy. (auth)
