THE ALUMINUM-LITHIUM PHASE DIAGRAM

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4752260

The boundaries of the ( alpha + BETA ) field in the aluminumlithium system were determined between 150 and 550 deg C by quantitative metallography and lattice parameter measuremerts. The solubility of lithium in aluminum decreases from 12.0 at.% Li at 550 deg C to 5.5 at.% Li at 150 deg C. BETA -Al- Li is snturated with aluminum at 45.8 at.% Li. (auth)
