Male mice were whole-body irradiated with x-ray doses of 590, 850, and 750 r at a dose output at 150 r/min. One hour after the end of the irradiation 1 ml of olive oil was applied. The 30-day survival rate was established and it was seen there was a significant variation between the mice irradiated with 650 r and the irradiated untreated control. The application of olive oil increases the survival rate from 27 to 50%. At 750 r no therapeutic effect was established, and at 590 r the effect was very low. (J.S.R.)
