Progress is reported in tracer studies on the effects of x radiation on the intracellular synthesis of sulfated mucopolysaccharides in the epiphyseal cartilage of young rats, the fractionation of sulfated mucopolysaccharides in cartilage and bone, and histochemical studies of the metachromatic granules of epiphyseal cartilage. The uptake of tritiated proline and cytidine was studied in normal rats. (C.H.)
