ELASTIC SCATTERING OF NEUTRONS BY NONSPHERICAL NUCLEI WITH A ROTATIONAL SPECTRUM (in Ukrainian)

Using Schroedinger's effective one-particle equation with a nonlocal potential operator, the problems of the elastic scattering of neutrons by nonspherical nuclei with a pronounced rotational spectrum were solved. The model under consideration primarily describes direct interaction, while the effect of the formation of a compound nucleus is taken into account by introducing surface absorption of neutrons. A comparison is made with experiment and a simple optical model. The results of the computations agree much better with the experiment than in the case of an optical model. (auth)
