Reactions of tritium recoils in liquid amd solid cyclohexane, cyclohexene, cyclohexadien-1.4, and benzene were studied using a Li/sup 6/(n, alpha )T source. It was found that the yield of labeled hydrocarbons (limited, unlimited, and aromatic) increased in transition from liquid to solid states. It is postulated that excited molecules form between the mother molecule and an atomic recoil. (R.V.J.)
