Neutron irradiation of cyclohexane-benzene mixtures in the presence of Li/sub 2/CO/sub 3/ was studied in order to determine the conservation of starting materials and radiochemical yields of benzene, cyclohexene, and fractions containing hydrogen and light hydrocarbons. The results showed that the conservation of starting material does not depend on the concentration of mixtures and is stable within the experimental error. The survival of benzene is higher than that of cyclohexane. Following 30 min irradiation the conservation of benzene is 80 to 85% and cyclohexane 75 to 80%; after 20 hr it is 25 to 28 and 12 to 15%, respectively. (R.V.J.)
