THE BP-3 HEAVY LIQUID CHAMBER: EXAMPLES OF PHYSICS EXPERIMENTS (in French)

Two experiments made with this chamber---one at Saclay and the other at CERN---are described in some detail. The electron decay of the LAMBDA /sub o/ hyperon was the first study. The experimental apparatus for the production of the pi /sup -/ meson, the selection of the liquid measure in the chamber, and the photographic study are described. The results obtained for the electron decay are in sharp disagreement with the theoretical predictions, but the implications of this disagreement are not considered. The experimental devices used in the study of the detection of high energy neutrinos (an investigation which is in process and not yet completed) are then described. (J.S.R.)
