THE INTERPRETATION OF FILM BADGE READINGS

Journal Article · · Physics in Medicine and Biology (England)

Problems in evaluating the dose received by the film in badges and in relating it to that received by the wearer of the film are discussed. However, solutions to the problems are not necessarily provided. Problems considered in the personnel dosimetry of x and r radiation are: doses received by various organs; calibration of film badges; radiation sources for calibration purposes; experimental arrangement in film calibration; and angle of incidence of radiation upon the calibration films. Discussion is also given on the measurement of personnel doses of BETA and neutron radiations. (P.C.H.)
