All cases of cancer in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are registered for evaluation of the methods of treatment, to study etiologic and pathologic aspects of cancer, and to gather statistics relating to medical care and cancer control. The accuracy of diagnosis of cancers and the cause of denth of cancer patients are discussed. Results are reported from a statistical analysis of tumor incidence in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the differential incidence of tumors relating to exposure of the populations to radiation from atomic explosions.
