The characteristics of Rb and Cs at temperatures up to about 2000 deg F are being evaluated. The currert program includes studies of the boiling heat transfer and two-phase fiow characteristics, and measurements to determine the latent heat of vaporization, density, specific heat, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and electrical resistivity of the liquid phases of these metals. Work performed during the period 30 June through 30 September 1962 is reported. The results of the preliminary test work performed in the heat transfer and fluid flow task and the apparatus to be used to measure latent heat of vaporization, specific heat, and density are described.
