The characteristics of rubidium and cesium at temperatures up to about 2000 deg F are being evaluated. Studies of boiling heat transfer and two-phase flow characteristics and measurements to determine the latent heat of vaporization, density, specific heat, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and electrical resistivity of the liquid phase of rubidium and cesium are being carried out. Design features of the heat transfer loop, and of the apparatus to be used to measure latent heat of vaporization, specific heat, and density are described. (auth)
