MEASUREMENT OF THE $alpha$-PARTICLE ENERGIES OF A NUMBER OF CURIUM ISOTOPES (in Russian)
S>The alpha -particle energies of Cm/sup 242/, Cm/sup 243/, and Cm/sup 244/ were compared with the alpha -particle energies of Bi/sup 212/ on a doublefocusing, magnetic alpha spectrometer. The standard alpha transitions in Bi/sup 212/ were assumed to be 6089.77 and 6050.60 kev (taken from A. Ritz). The spectrum of the Bi/sup 212/ isotope was imposed on a photograph of the alpha spectrum of the curium isotope, and the energies of the alpha transitions were obtained by comparison with the known alpha transitions of the Bi/sup 212/ isotope. The alpha transitions in Cm/sup 242/ were found to be 6071 plus or minus 1 and 6115 plus or minus 1 kev, and also 5971 Mev for the alpha transition to the 4/sup +/ level of the daughter nucleus (0.035% yield). The alpha transitions in Cm/sup 244/ were 5763 and 5806 kev, as obtained by comparison with the 5769 kev transition in Bi/sup 212/. The alpha transition of Cm/sup 244/ to the 4/sup +/ level of the daughter nucleus turned out to be equal to 5666 kev. The alpha transitions in Cm/sup 243/ were 5991, 5784, and 5739 kev. (TTT)
