INTERNAL CONVERSION STUDIES IN THE I$sup 132$ DECAY

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
The electron spectrum in the energy range of 575 to 675 kev from the decay of I/sup 132/ is studied by means of an ironfree spectrometer. Internal conversion lines corresponding to transitions of 522 plus or minus 1, 630.4 plus or minus 0.7, 672 plus or minus 2, 667.7 plus or minus 0.5, and 652 plus or minus 4 (tentatively established) kev are recorded. The K-conversion coefficient of the 668-kev transition is measured by the internal-external method to be (3.3 plus or minus 0.9) X 10/sup -3/. This value agrees, within the large limits of error, with the theoretical E2 conversion coeificient value. (auth)
