NONSTOICHIOMETRY IN INTERMETALLIC COMPOUNDS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4740018
The relation of defect concentrations in a solid lattice to nonstoichiometry is discussed for intermetallic compounds. Experimental studies were made of the changes in vapor pressure with composition more precisely than was possible with earlier techniques. These observed changes allowed checking of postulated physical models for the manner in which the parent lattice changes with changes of composition. Results of studies of Ce --Cd alloys are discussed. (M.C G.)
