Health and genetic risks from fallout resulting from nuclear weapons tests are discussed, with particular respect to I/sup 131/ and Sr/sup 90/. The monitoring program for detecting fallout levels in the United Kingdom is described and recent findings are cited, following the Russian tests. It was concluded that present levels, especially of I/sup 131/ and Sr/sup 90/ in milk, do not warrant special measures for removal of radionuclides from food supplies. (H.H.D.)
