EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE MODIFICATIONS OF THE SERUM ALDOLASE ACTIVITY FROM X AND GAMMA RADIATIONS WITH AND WITHOUT USE OF GRAFTS (in Italian)

The variations of the aldolase activity of the blood serum of rabbits whole-body irradiated with x rays at standard voltages and with Co/sup 60/ gamma rays were studied with and without grafts. It was shown that the aldolase activity is modified both by x rays and by gamma rays. However, with equality of irradiation dose given in one exposure and with open field, the enzymatic values resuiting from the x irradiation are higher than those from the gamma irradiation. The morphological behavior of the two curves is also different. The interposition of grates causes quantitative modifications of the aldolase activity in both groups of rabbits. In the group exposed to x radiation, the aldolase activity is lower than that of animals irradiated with open field. On the contrary, for the animals exposed to gamma radiation, the use of the grate produces a higher value for enzymatic activity of the blood serum than with the open field. An interpretation of the experimental results is presented. (tr- auth)
