THE INFLUENCE OF ROENTGEN IRRADIATION UPON SERUM PROTEIN

Journal Article · · Nippon Sanka Fujinka Gakkai Zasshi (Japan)
OSTI ID:4798484

Serum protein fractions of x irradiated rabbits were studied by paper electrophoresis. Total protein, the albumin fraction, and the A/G ratio were decreased in all irradiated animals, while the alpha -, BETA -, and gamma - globulin fractions were increased. These changes did not vary with the x-ray dose when single irradiations were applied but they did vary with the dose when the animals were irradiated repeatedly. Vitamin B, vitamin K, and chlorpromazine were effective in this order in restoring the serum protein fractions to normal. Vltamins A and C showed no consistent resuIts. (Abstr.
