MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN DOGS AT REMOTE PERIODS FOLLOWING THE ADMINISTRATION OF Po$sup 21$$sup 0$ (in Russian)
Into the gastrointestinal tract of two dogs 0.05 mc/kg of Po/sup 210/ was introduced; the animals were sacrificed 9 years later. Dystrophic changes of internal organs and profound affection of the liver were morphologically revealed: nodular hyperplasia of the organ as a compensatoryhyperplatic process with individual nodules in the form of tumor-like formations of the type of primary cancerous nodules, developing from hepatic cells and adenomas from bile ducts. Adenomas of the thyroid gland, adrenals, prostate, and seminoma of the testis developed in the organs of the endocrine system. The above changes in parenchymatous organs and in glands of the endocrine system are the remote sequelae consequent upon longterm continuous ionizing irradiation with Po/sup 210/ . (auth)
