PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF FERROUS SULPHATE DOSIMETRY

Journal Article · · Physics in Medicine and Biology (England)
Practical details in accurate ferrous sulfate dosimetry are discussed, including a new method for estimating the extinction coefficient of Fe/sup 3+/ ion. Errors in the ferrous sulfate G-value amounting to several per cent can arise due to the presence of impurities in the analytical reagent grade sulfuric acid normally used to make up the dosimeter solution. Simple methods of removing this difficulty are described. (auth)
