Emphasis in the study was on particles below 0.1 mu . Efforts during the period were devoted to development of the ARF electric particle charger. Work on the Whitby ionizer as a charger was also continued. Tests were conducted in which relatively high charging levels were achieved. Neutralization studies were continued in which carbonyl iron aerosols produced by dry dispersal were neutralized. The classifier was modified to accommodate a higher sample rate. (J.R.D.)
