THE PHASE BOUNDARIES OF CUBIC SOLID SOLUTIONS OF ZrO$sub 2$ AND MgO FROM 1800 C TO THE MELTING POINT (in German)

Journal Article · · Ber. Deut. Keram. Ges.
OSTI ID:4727435
The phase boundaries between the cubic solid solution of ZrO/sub 2/-MgO and ZrO/sub 2/ lie in the range from 1800 deg C to the maximum melting point at 7 mole% MgO. The boundary between the same solid solution and MgO is apparently independent of temperature and lies at about 20 mole% MgO. In fused specimens (but not in those formed by a solidstate reaction) with MgO contents above 20%, x- ray interference lines appear, which have not yet been identified. (auth)
