The effect of the diluent on distribution coefficients for uranyl nitrate between aqueous and organic phases was studied. A calculation was made of water and TBP association constants in chloroform, dichloroethane, carbon tetrachloride and bromobenzene. It was found that the variations in TBP extraction ability are not specified by diluent polarity. (R.V.J.)
