Solvent extraction of uranyl nitrate by TBP, DBBP, BDBP, and TBPO mixtures with chloroform, dichloroethane, and carbon tetrachloride was investigated. Extraction agent and diluent activity coefficients were estimated on the basis of diluent vapor pressure. An analysis was made of uranyl nltrnte distributions between TBP, DBBP, BDBP, and TBPO in chloroform, dichloroethane, and carbon tetrachloride and the aqueous phase, and effective extraction constants were determined. It was found that fewer ether oxygens in the extraction agent molecule result in an increased uranyl nitrate extraction, and that the diluent effect is exhibited in its reaction with uranyl nitrate extraction agent and disolvent.
