Effects of inert diluents on uranyl nitrate extraction by tributylphosphate were investigated. It was found that solutions of TBP in low- polarity diluent are capable of extracting uranyl nitrate with higher distribution coefficients than by simply diluted tributylphosphate. High polarity diluent produced an opposite effect due to stronger interpolar bonds inhibiting TDP reaction. (R.V.J.)
