SEMI-CONTINUOUS HOT PRESSING

Journal Article · · American Ceramic Society Bulletin (U.S.)
OSTI ID:4722503
Equipment and techniques used in semicontinuous hot pressing are described. Preliminary data are presented on the effects of time and temperature on the final density of high-purity beryllia. Densities greater than 9S% were achieved at time cycles as short as 10 minutes and at temperatures as low as 1100 deg C. It is concluded that, under suitable conditions, semicontinuous hot pressing may compete both technically amd economically with sintering techniques. (auth)
