Using a time-to-pulse-height converter of high resolving power, the time distribution of the gamma rays emitted with the thermal fission of U/sup 235/ is determined up to a few nanoseconds. The time distribution of the gamma radiation is found to vary with the gamma energies, such that the time delays with respect to the fission increase with decreasing gamma energies. (auth)
