The fate of native homologous liver tritiated desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was followed by means of radioautographic techniques after injection into lethally irradiated rats. Results indicate the incorporation of the tritiated DNA into the nuclei of some cells of the testes, intestines, spleen, and liver of irradiated recipients. The macrophages appeared to be involved in the transport of injected DNA. Metabolism of the liver nucleic acid ot irradiated DNAtreated animals appeared to return almost to normal. (C.H.)
